The unique Kingsley Summer Surf ‘n English course, combines ‘on beach’ and ‘o beach’ elements focussing on surfing and developing your communication and English language skills through a unique, surf-themed syllabus.

Surfers will enjoy a blend of both practical surf and engaging English sessions during the 12 night course, based at the magnificent Kingsley School – moments from the beach and the stunning North Devon coastline.

International students who wish to have a taste of life in a British boarding school, and who have an interest in surfing and the sea.

The course offers a mix of surf instruction, enrichment, social opportunities combined with a unique English language learning syllabus focussing on surf-inspired learning topics that include:

KINGSLEY SCHOOL, DEVON

Situated in the UNESCO biosphere, North Devon has been designated as WORLD SURFING RESERVE ( WSR ) being recognised as having outstanding waves, surf zones and surrounding environments.

The school location is ideal for both interested and keen surfers alike who want to learn more about surfing and improve their surfing skills.

Located on the edge of the National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmouth and just moments from stunning beaches, Kingsley is the perfect location for this residential summer surf course.

KINGSLEY SCHOOL is located in Bideford on the banks of the River Torridge in North Devon, just a 15 minute walk to Bideford town and the seafront. The school is set in 25 acres of playfields and Woodland, surrounded by stunning countryside, and just five minutes from popular surfing beaches in the school buses.

 

Accommodation 

Accommodation on-site is among 3 boarding houses: Belvoir, Longfield and Carisbrooke, all of them well equipped with communal áreas, games room, café and kitchen.

Bedrooms are a combination of twins, triples and larger rooms and all bathrooms are shared between 4-6 students.

Separate male and female accommodation.

LAUNDRY is available on-site. Bed linen is provided and changed weekly ( towels are not provided ).
